Built for macOS 26 Tahoe & later

The Launchpad you
miss, reborn.

macOS Tahoe retired the full-screen Launchpad. LaunchingPad brings the spatial, paginated app grid back — rebuilt natively in Swift 6 and SwiftUI, faster than the original and customizable to the pixel.

Everything you loved — and more

A launcher that feels like
it belongs in macOS.

Every detail of the original, recreated with care, then pushed further with the kind of customization Apple never shipped.

Summon from anywhere

One gesture. Your whole library.

Call up the grid the way that fits your hands. A blurred, dimmed overlay drops onto the active display and the current Space — never yanking you somewhere else.

  • ⌥ Space hotkey — fully rebindable, powered by KeyboardShortcuts.
  • Trackpad pinch — three- or four-finger pinch, just like before.
  • Hot corner — rest the pointer in any corner you choose.
  • F4 key & menu bar icon — for the muscle memory.
LaunchingPad's General settings window showing the Activation section: a ⌥Space hotkey, a System F4 Key toggle, Trackpad set to pinch with 4 or 5 fingers, and a Bottom Right hot corner.
Organize spatially

Drag, drop, done.
Folders that name themselves.

Click-and-hold to enter edit mode — icons wiggle, ready to move. Drag one app onto another to spin up a folder. Drag to a screen edge to flip pages. It’s the tactile, spatial layout your memory already knows.

  • Drop to create folders in a centered glass panel.
  • Apple Intelligence names suggest a folder title from the apps inside. AI
  • Self-healing — a folder left with one app dissolves automatically.
  • Edit anywhere — drag to an edge to carry an app across pages.

Make it yours

Three backdrops.
Infinite moods.

Choose the classic frosted blur, mirror your live desktop wallpaper — dynamic and aerial included — or drop in any image of your own. Then dial the blur to taste.

  • Material — thin, normal, or thick frosted blur of everything behind.
  • Wallpaper — mirrors your current desktop, windows hidden.
  • Custom image — any picture, blur keeps labels readable.

Find & surface

Type to fly.
The right apps, up front.

Start typing the instant the grid appears — fuzzy search ranks across names, bundle IDs, categories and folder contents, then Return launches the top hit. Pin your Recents and Most Used rows beside every page, or just on page one.

  • Fuzzy everything — “lr” finds Lightroom, folders flatten into results.
  • Recents & Most Used — 1–3 columns, fixed or first-page placement.
  • ⌥-click to launch without dismissing the launcher.

Tune the grid

Your layout, to the pixel.

Size the grid from a roomy 4×3 to a dense 10×9. Scale icons and folder spacing. Then save named arrangements and restore them anytime — LaunchingPad backs up first, skips missing apps, and tucks new ones at the end.

  • Grid — 4–10 columns, 3–9 rows, adjustable icon size.
  • Saved arrangements — snapshot and switch between layouts.
  • Import legacy — pull in your old LaunchOS / Launchpad database.
